The occupation gouvernement used the V for Viktoria (from the Roman god Victoria) as propaganda (Viktoria - Deutschland Siegt an allen Fronten) but also the allied propaganda used V as a sign for Victory and later during the war won the propaganda war of the V sign. The V overprinted Norwegian stamps was only sold from postal service a few months and was later supposed to be destroyed by the occupation gouvernement, but many were hidden away and later surfaced after the end of WW2.
