Description: Beautiful piece of Indigenous Art - EAGLE HEAD wall art carvingFully hand cut, carved, designed, inlaid and hand painted by First Nation artist Silas Coon from Alert Bay, a member of the Kwakwaka'wakw First Nation. As usual, Silas used pine for the piece. He loves to use pine because once it's stained and polished, it really shows off the grain of the wood which only adds to the beauty. It's made and already prepared for wall hanging. Signed at the back. The eye of the eagle is inlaid, the head adorned with rope. Dark brown stain, vibrant copper paint. Measurements: 14 1/2" x 7 1/2" x 3/4" Meaning: Eagles mate for life and are therefore also seen as a symbol of lasting love and dedication. It is told that the Eagle end their own life in despair when the mate is lost. Eagle feathers are used in the most important ceremonies, a display of respect, courage, Chieftainship and wisdom. The Eagle is the ruler of sky. FREE local pick up is available at our Gallery My Mondo Trading.
