Description: Excellent large, and heavy, example of nonesuch shale copper. The shale carries small pieces of copper, microscopic, that overtime slowly replace the fine grains making up the shale formations. This process is the reason for the unique flowing form of the copper and the satin-like texture of this piece. Much of the copper formed this way is sheet thin and layered through the shale. You don't often find an example this solid and well formed. It's also nice to have some shale remaining to see how the two flow through and around each other.
