Description: Non dug Civil War Virginia state seal staff volunteer militia coat button. It is listed in Albert's as VA 20 and in Tice as VA261 C.4. The front in nice with an uncleaned patina. The reverse has a, c.1860, small depressed SUPERIOR * QUALITY *, between two rings of dots, backmark. The shank is lightly bent. It measures 23 mm in diameter and shows light use wear.
