Description: Frame: 17” x 21” Matte: 15.5” x 19.5” Sight: 11.5” x 15.5” “Born in Haifa in 1931, Nissan Engel postponed his career as a painter to participate in Israel's fight for independence in 1948. After the war, Mr. Engel attended the Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts in Jerusalem, while also exhibiting his work in Tel Aviv and Haifa. In 1956 he left for France to continue his art training, studying stage design at Strasbourg under Michel St. Denis of London's Old Vic. In 1960, Mr. Engel held a one-man show at Galerie André Weill in Paris. More recent shows have included Galleria Napoleone in Milan, as well as art galleries in Cannes, Rome, London and New York. Mr. Engel now lives and works in New York. This original piece of graphic art is signed and numbered by the artist.” Signed and numbered, limited edition mixed media piece by Nissan Engel (1931-2016).
