Description: NGC XF Roman AE3/4 of Constantius II AD 337-361Constantius II, born in 317, was a Roman emperor from 337 to 361. Initially sharing power with his brothers, Constantine II and Constans I, he became the sole ruler in 353 until his death in 361. He served as Caesar under his father Constantine I and faced challenges after his father's death in 337, including accusations of involvement in family massacres. Constantius engaged in warfare with Persian king Shāpūr II from 338 to 350 and later confronted usurpers Vetranio and Magnentius in 350. He appointed his cousin Gallus as Caesar but later executed him in 354. As a sole ruler, Constantius aimed for religious unity under Arian Christianity, passing laws against paganism. Despite efforts, religious unity was short-lived, and he faced a revolt by Julian in 361, dying on his way to confront it.High Grade ( XF ) Extremely Fine - Certified, Graded and Encapsulated by NGC You Will Receive the Same Type of Coin and Condition Shown , Certificate Number Will Vary As Stock Photos Are Used Free USPS Ground Advantage with Tracking and Insurance!
