Description: These are three separate articles from the Oregonian, a Portland based newspaper. The first one is the largest one. It includes 7 pictures of the Duke, 4 from his movies, including "Three Godfathers", "True Grit", "The Longest Day", and "The Alamo". The other three are John receiving his Oscar for Best Actor for "True Grit", and one each of The Duke with his son John Ethan Wayne, and with his grandson Michael Ian Wayne. Please note that there is a small hole in the paper with the one of John and his grandson. Also, as can be seen in the photos, there is a tear in the paper at the edge of the picture of "The Alamo". The second is almost a full column with two separate articles and a picture of the Duke receiving his Oscar. One of the articles is titled, "Film land feels Wayne's Loss", and "Carter praises Wayne as 'hero'", referring to president Jimmy Carter. The third is an article noting "Wayne's death top news story", and notes that even in Peru, the news of his death was on the front page of seven of the local papers. There are also seven other countries mentioned, and the respect that he held in each of them. There is also a freebie "Tributes to 'The Duke' pour into Hollywood" also from the Oregonian. Although it does not include the top of the page identifying it, it does say the pages where other articles are found, and these all jive with the other three articles. This one also has a hole in it in the writing, which is why it is free. I have recently moved, and must downsize my collection. This includes many John Wayne items as well as Louis L'Amour, Philip Jose Farmer, and others. Please note that all of my items come from a smoke free, pet free home.
