Description: New & Unsmoked Ser Jacopo Picta Miro` 04 S2 Bent Sandblast with Silver Ring This is a new and unsmoked pipe from the Picta series celebrating the art of Joan Miro`. This is the 4th piece in Ser Jacopo's fourth Picta series. The Miro` series, at 10 pieces is the smallest of the Picta collections (van Gogh 19 shapes, Magritte 20 shapes and Picasso 28 shapes). This is an interesting piece which is essentially a bent Tankard with two "Bullcap" rings at the top of the bowl. This piece, as are several in the Miro` series is on the small side (for a Ser Jacopo). It has a slim silver ring accenting the juncture of the long shank and stem. The pipe has beautiful straight/flame grain which is shown very well through its sandblasted exterior. The single nomenclature panel is on the bottom of the shank and the tobacco chamber has been left natural so you can view the grain from the inside of the bowl. It's a very light weight and beautiful pipe. The pipe will come with a Picta booklet on one of the four Picta series. The S2 designation indicates it is a sandblast (sabbiata) and is in the middle range of Ser Jacopo's color range. Their sandblasts can be black, which can have an S designation but just as often there is no S stamp at all/, Then there's the S1 which is often a dark brown with darker highlights and then the S2 such as the example here and finally the S3 which is unstained and is also known as Spongia. The Spongia stamp is a fairly recent addition. During the first 20 years or so, the unfinished sandblasts were stamped S3, and are quite small in number compared to the S/S1/S2 models.
