Description: ___________ This card is a postally unused early chrome, circa 1940-1970. This postcard is an advertisement for the Gentle Art of flower arranging and this Vogue Flower Arranging Chest, New Jersey. Back of card says, United Color Cliffside Park, New Jersey. Postcard has minor edge and corner wear and a few minor stains on the backside ( one is an indent of an old written price by the stamp box). The overall condition is good, always check corners and edges for possible wear (see scan). As grading is subjective, please look at scan for faults/defects. A postally unused card may have writing on the reverse. The color "Photochrome" postcard (called Chrome) appeared around 1939. They were launched by the Union Oil Company in their western gasoline service stations in 1939 as "giveaways", and soon after these "Chrome" postcards started to dominate the scene. They were easily produced, of high photo quality and most importantly, they were in color. They replaced both linen and black & white postcards by 1945 in the roadside postcard racks and peoples hearts. ___________ The postcard view is now highly sought after by many institutions and individuals, as it serves as a historical record of the past.
