Limelight is a boost + drive pedal created in collaboration with Los Angeles post-hardcore band Touche Amore. This pedal, which pursued the ideal sound for them, has attracted attention across genres and has been released as a regular lineup of EAE. This pedal uses the clipping circuit of the Bluesbreaker as a starting point and incorporates EAE-like ingenuity to achieve an emotionally bright sound, a wide gain range, and hassle-free control. Like a spotlight that highlights the emotional expression of a stage actor, Limelight will make your emotional performance shine. ● Drive section with wide gain range Limelight is characterized by a bell-like drive sound, and like the base Bluesbreaker, it uses a mechanism that controls two gain stages simultaneously. As the gain is increased, a natural boost is applied to the mid-range. This allows you to achieve both intense drive and vivid expression without making the sound muddy even when the gain is set high. In addition, the Limelight has a wide gain range of +50dB, and the Boost channel allows you to output a wide range of drive sounds. From a gentle and ennui clean to a distortion with a sense of urgency, you can express it with just one pedal. The Limelight is not only for post-hardcore bands like Touche Amore, but also for any player looking for an emotional drive sound. ●Tone control that is easy to target The Limelight allows you to shape your tone simply and without hesitation. First, the Focus toggle allows you to select from three positions for the amount of low cut that is applied before the drive section. You can control the presence of the dignified highs and mids, which are characteristic of Limelight's distortion. The Tone knob controls the low-pass (high-cut) filter, emphasizing the highs when turned clockwise and cutting the highs when turned counterclockwise. By combining these two, you can determine the rough sound balance with the Focus toggle, and then fine-tune the high frequencies with the Tone knob to simply complete the tone shaping. You can freely focus on the tone you are aiming for. ●Boost channel that expands versatility The versatility of the Limelight is expanded by using the Boost channel, which is placed independently in front of the Drive channel. The Boost channel is a simple booster that can cleanly raise the volume up to 21dB. It can be used alone to strongly boost the drive of the amp, as well as the Drive channel in the latter stage. Here, a gentle low cut below 200Hz is applied in conjunction with the Boost gain, preventing excessive low frequencies from becoming boomy. When the Boost knob is turned all the way down, this channel can also be used as a transparent buffer.
