David Gilmour, the vocalist and guitarist of Pink Floyd, returns with his first solo album in nine years. For the first time in Pink Floyd-related history, this album includes a special Japan edition bonus track (CD)! The album was recorded over five months in Brighton and London and marks Gilmour's first full-length release of new material since 2015's Rattle That Lock. Produced by David Gilmour and Charlie Andrew, who is known for his work with the Mercury Prize-winning indie band ALT-J, the album features eight new songs and a remake of Between Two Points by The Montgolfier Brothers. The artwork is by renowned photographer Anton Corbijn. The lineup of musicians includes bassist Guy Pratt, who has participated in Pink Floyd recordings and tours since 1987, keyboardist Roger Eno (brother of Brian Eno), legendary drummer Steve Gadd, and Gilmour's own son and daughter. The title track even features the late Richard Wright, Pink Floyd's keyboardist. In a review by UNCUT magazine, the album is described as "a powerful new work inspired by the looming presence of death," with the overarching theme reflecting that while death is inevitable, life is full of strange coincidences that go beyond mere luck or odd events.
