Description: Vintage Neve 33609. Original fully discrete Metal Knob version. The first and simply the best of any 33609 model revision. This unit has the earlier and more desirable Neve BA440 fully discrete transistor amplifier cards (the black square by transformers) as opposed to later metal knob and plastic knob revision B/C models which have the chip based BA640 amplifier cards (look the same as BA440 but chip inside. NOT discrete). None of the others sound like these original fully discrete BA440 equipped units. These early units are much harder to find than the chip based BA640 equipped units. At time of listing this is the only BA440 equipped 33609 (other than Vintage King’s) for sale here or on Reverb. ***Update: the vintage king unit was sold yesterday Jan 2 2025. My unit is now the only BA440 equipped unit available. Unit was given a clean bill of health by a technician earlier this year and it still functions flawlessly. It is a 120V model. No step up/down transformer necessary. Normal cosmetic wear for a unit this age. I will only sell and ship to the continental United States. Buyer must have a minimum of 10 feedback and 100% positive feedback. It will be shipped in the road case its sitting on in photos and also boxed. No, it has not been traveling in a road case.
