Description: I AM NOT SELLING A KIT, only a new, full-size copy of PLANS, parts patterns, construction article & scale documentation to build a 39" RC model of the Navy's famous N3N "Yellow Peril" that trained all Naval aviators in World War II. In January, 1958 an excellent rudder-only RC model was published by Bob Coon of the famous N3N "YELLOW PERIL" 1930s Navy flight school trainer that got so many pilots ready for World War II. The construction article is quite complete and has 4 pages of full-size parts patterns. I got a full-size copy of the magazine plan back then and have kept it ever since. That plan was printed on highly acidic paper and had begun to darken at the edges since 1958---as so many, many old plans have done. My copy firm cleaned up the plan nicely as the pictures show. The model was to be powered by an .09 diesel engine (which allowed for a larger prop to be used) but any good Cox Golden Bee or Black Widow would do today. Personally, I would use an Enya .09 or O.S. .10 because I would be adding elevator and throttle control. Interestingly the plan shows the wing span as 38-1/2" but the magazine back then in their PLANS sales materials listed it as 39". The editors back then tended to round the numbers off. This is the only RC plan I have come across in the past 50 years of a scale model of the famous Navy WW II trainer known as the N3N "YELLOW PERIL." It was called that because it always carried a beginner and his instructor, so you never knew which way it was going to go next. Many think it must be a PT-17 Stearman but was an N2N. My 11th picture is of a PT-17 aka N2N exact scale giant RC hanging in the Pensacola NAS Museum gift shop. I personally went to the Pensacola Naval Aviation Museum twice with three cameras to get these scale documentation photos up close and personal, a few of which I show here. I BEGAN LISTING THIS PLAN AND WITH THESE PHOTOS IN 2007. These prints of my photos taken on my multiple trips to Pensacola have not been released to be used in any other listing. This plane was not an altered PT-13 by Stearman---which was an N2N. It was made just for the Navy in the 1930s. I AM NOT SELLING A KIT OR MODEL, only an excellent copy of the RC scale PLAN, parts patterns, multi-page construction article and ample scale documentation. YOU ARE PURCHASING A CLEAN FULL-SIZE COPY OF THE ORIGINAL PLAN AND CONSTRUCTION ARTICLE WITH PARTS PATTERNS & SCALE DOCUMENTATION FOLDED IN A MANILA ENVELOPE.
