Description: In 1931, a group of trading post operators came together to form the United Indian Traders Association (UITA). The association was “organized for the perpetuation and protection of handmade Indian arts and crafts.” UITA is now defunct, but items bearing the UITA stamp are authentic, high quality, and very collectible. This is a gorgeous old Navajo silver spoon pin. Both the bowl and the handle are accented with cleanly struck hand stamping. The spoon measures 2 ⅝ inches in length. The back is stamped UITA 3 (designating either the Toadlena Trading Post or the Two Grey Hills Trading Post). The swivel-type clasp is in good working order. The silver has taken on a deep patina befitting its age, but would polish up nicely if so desired. Shipping by USPS Priority Mail within the United States is $9.00.
