Description: St BonaventureSingle Decade Rosary This beautiful chaplet, handmade in the USA, has a brand new nickel silver medal has a great vintage look; it has St Bonaventure on the front and an image of the "Mission San Buenaventura founded 1782" on the back. It's a famous mission in California. The 1-1/2" gold-toned St Benedict crucifix was made in Italy like the medal; the chaplet was designed and handmade in the USA by me.All eleven beads are genuine, natural semi-precious gemstone beads in 8 mm. The single Our Father bead is a Green Adventurine. The ten Hail Mary beads are Autumn Jasper, a beautiful stone mottled in the colors of the fall. Comes gift boxed and with a St Bonaventure prayer card which also has some information about the mission. Also included is a rosary pamphlet and several other associated pamphlets and prayer cards plus a carry pouch and a gift bag and tissue paper to hold everything for gift giving. St Bonaventure was a Franciscan bishop and Doctor of the Church, who was born in 1221 and was christened "John", however he owes the name Bonaventure to St Francis of Assisi, who was asked to pray for the infant who was sick. St Francis had a vision of little John's later greatness, and exclaimed "o Buono Ventura" ( oh, good fortune!). Known as the Seraphic Doctor, he was contemporary and friend of St Thomas Aquinas and St Louis. Any questions please ask!
