Description: RARE ARTIFACT: Naomi Judd Personally Inscribed Book Given to Dottie West in 1990 On August 1, 1990, an eviction notice was filed against country singer Dottie West by First American Bank which had bought her house for $800,000 at an auction held in June. On October 17, 1990, country singer Naomi Judd told reporters she had hepatitis and would have to give up performing. She and her daughter Wynonna held the press conference in the same room in which they auditioned for RCA in 1983. On November 11, 1990, Naomi Judd wrote a personal message in this book and gave it to Dottie West. Within the message, Naomi wrote: “I’m keeping you in my prayers because you are on the verge of something great.” She also wrote: “You and I need to be sensitive to what we can do for the work of the kingdom. (It is our starring role.)” Dottie West died on September 4, 1991, at the age of 58. The book was among Dottie’s possessions at that time. Naomi Judd died on April 30,22, at the age of 76. Both Dottie and Naomi were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame after their deaths. The book is “Releasing The Ability Of God Through Prayer” by Charles Capps, and it is in excellent condition. Proceeds from this sale will benefit the Music Health Alliance organization in Nashville.
