But in this process, and I am still learning and getting better, I see that there are a few ultimate tips to getting them perfect. You need to start with clean nails, I even use a nail primer to dry out and get any oils off my nail bed. I also gave each nail bed a quick buff or sanding ( but only lightly ) to give the powder something to grab onto. Lastly, be very conservative with your base coat. If you put too much base it does tend to get bumpy and lumpy, then you have to file it down too much to get it smooth.
