String bound. Stunning collection of 62 original silver mounted photographs, along with 2 postcards and one entrance ticket documenting the Berlin Summer Games of 1936. The first three photographs depict the Olympic stadium and the Glockenturm (Bell Tower) under construction. The images in the next two pages show outside and inside views of the stadium after its completion. The following leaves include views of the Olympic bell, the opening ceremony and the Parade of Nations as well as 6 views of Berliners and tourists strolling about the Brandenburg Gate, amid a display of flags from participating nations. The surroundings are seen decorated with statues by Adolf Wamper. Seven photographs show views of the Großes Festspiel (great festival) which was held on August 1, at 9pm. The images are accompanied with the previous owner's entrance ticket to the ceremony. Other striking snapshots taken at various competitions such as: Swimming, polo, football, high jump and relay. Mounted at rear are 2 Olympic postcards featuring the Olympic Stadium (of which one is written and postmarked with a special 11th Olympiad 1936 Berlin stamp featuring the Olympic bell above two swastikas).
