Timmy Overdrive is an overdrive pedal that gained popularity as a pioneer of "・transparent overdrive"・. Its biggest feature is its revolutionary circuit design that overturns the conventional wisdom of pedal design. The passive 2-band EQ TREBLE and BASS are cut filters that work in the opposite direction to ordinary pedals and amplifiers. The zero position is flat and the more you turn it to the right the more high and low frequencies are cut. The GAIN amplification circuit is located before the TREBLE so it does not spoil the harmonics that are the core of the sound. On the other hand the BASS is located before the GAIN and by cutting it in advance it avoids amplifying excess low frequencies. These are the secrets of the natural and transparent sound of this pedal. The mode selector switch allows you to select asymmetric or symmetric clipping circuits and you can select the amount of distortion and compression. The circuit design does not change the sound drastically in any mode.
