Description: Offered here is a 7"x 9" wire photo of Muhammad Ali raising his arms in victory as Sonny Liston remains on a knee after being knocked down... This photo is not only a terrific image of Ali and Liston, it actually shows one of the most important and significant moments in boxing history.Only a minute into the first round of the bout, Liston tried to throw a left jab at Ali, but Ali punched over Liston's glove, landing a powerful blow that lifted Liston off his feet and knocked him down... The punch was so fast and so well disguised, virtually no one saw it and most thought Listin went down purposely, trying to fix the fight... It would go on to be known as the "Phantom Punch".Instead of going to a neutral corner, Ali went over to Liston, stood over him and yelled "Get up and fight sucker! No one will believe this!"... While Ali was yelling at Liston, with Ali's glove raised across his chest, photographer Neil Leifer snapped what would become the most famous photo in boxing history... Referee Jersey Joe Walcott then grabbed Ali began to escort him to a neutral corner... Ali began walking, raised his hands in victory, and this photo was taken at that moment... The fight would be stopped a few seconds later as the timekeeper had counted Liston out...
