Only 100 of each car were produced. The car is number 79 of the Joint Line Series and NSC special run number 6-39. In 1918 the USRA combined the tracks between Denver and Pueblo to form the Joint Line. "Acequia" is the thirteenth in a series honoring the trains and stations of the Joint Line. Acequia derives its name from a Spanish word meaning canal or ditch. Located about 14 miles south of Denver, Acequia is now considered a ghost town. This is a prototypical Santa Fe Bx-187 50 foot boxcar from a series of 25 cars manufactured in November of 1978 by Berwick Forge Company. The cars are painted "Oxide Red" with white and black printing.
