Description: A fabulous example of Moorcroft pottery in the form of a table lamp. After extensive research, I have determined this pattern to be the orchid and spring flower line designed around 1918. This pattern is very similar to that of the bearded iris as I currently have an example in my shop. I believe this lamp was created sometime in the 1940s/1950s and in lieu of a fixture holding a cloth shade, this particular piece has an upright shade of milk glass. The pottery portion sets on a heavy reticulated brass colored base with 4 fancy feet. I’m not sure if the base is solid brass or a wash but nonetheless very attractive. On the very bottom the lettering MALC4756? can be viewed albeit the pitting of the metal is obscuring a definite reading. The entire lamp stands just under 22” including the shade with the pottery portion measuring 10 3/4” by itself. The base measures 5 5/8” between opposite feet. After thorough examination, I can fine no damage or repairs anywhere on this wonderful item. The glass shade has no chips, cracks, damage or repairs nor does the pottery. The brass shows some patina especially on the fixture and the base which would be normal for its age. This lamp is quite heavy and would require shipping double boxed using FedEx ground/home delivery. Full insurance will be included with the postage. A truly wonderful example from the famous Moorcroft Pottery of England. Please view all pictures as they are considered part of the description. Please check back to my listings often as I will be posting numerous fine examples of glass, pottery and porcelain in the near future. Thank you.
