Description: About the framesetThis is a stunning example of a mid-80s Japanese steel frameset. Miyata made some of the best bicycles available during the 80s and 90s. Using their own triple butted chromoly steel tubing, this top of the range 1986 Pro Miyata was equipped with a full Suntour Sprint groupset. This particular year had some of the nicest seat stays in our opinion. MeasurementsBelow you will find the measurements of the frameset. These were done by hand so it's possible we are off by a little. We've also referenced the manufacturer's spec to fill in some details. There are some small paint chips and surface level blemishes (see photos). All of the decals are in great shape with the exception of the 'Pro Miyata' decals at the front of the top tube(they could be replaced). The paint and chrome are vibrant and this is before we've had the time to thoroughly clean and polish the frame. Our Condition Rating SystemAs-Is: Not safe to use or suspected mechanical/structural issues have been identified. ---All below ratings have no mechanical or structural issues---Bad: No mechanical or structural issues discovered during inspection but the cosmetic shape is terrible. Expect fading, deep scrapes, small dents and dings that don't compromise safety, pitted metal, and rusted areas.OK: There are noticeable areas that are scraped, scratched, and there may be some rust. These issues are on a good portion of the item.Good: There is a patina with surface level scrapes, scratches, and paint chips. The paint or logos may be slightly faded but still look good. Decals may have some damage.Very Good: There's a small number of cosmetic issues that make sense relative to the item's age. The paint / metal is vibrant with minimal signs of wear. There are no deep scrapes / scratches. A couple of decals could be replaced, or not.Excellent: In used but "like new" condition. There are no issues with decals, the paint / metal is vibrant, and the only scrapes/chips would have come from storageNOS: As good as it gets. This item came from a shop or was stored in its original packaging for decades. The paint / metal is near perfect. There are no issues with decals. The only cosmetic wear could have occurred while being put on display.Other notes:Suntour sealed headset, Suntour CR-E Seatpost, and Suntour Bottom Bracket are included.
