Illustrated throughout with 100 small wood engraved images & approx. 20 hand colored maps (many/ most of which are full page). Publisher's 1/4 leather binding, gilt bands, pictorial paper covered boards. Book is physically old and shows some signs of handling and time. It was used for many years to teach children geography so book reflects this usage. Binding gently age worn but still appealing, leather and joints rubbed but still supple, remains overall attractive as a physical object of this era. Text block paper is age toned as typical, soiling, internally book remains mostly tight and sound. A book which has been taken care of but does not look like a new book. This is an antique old book which has been handled over the past many decades. Still attractive on the shelf. Book displays a pleasing and unique age patina and is in rather nice antiquarian condition, any age flaws seem easy to overlook or forgive.
