Description: I'm trimming down my personal vintage Fiesta collection which, once at 752 un-duplicated pieces, is too large to move to an apartment. Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Here is what I think was the largest piece of Fiesta ever produced. It is a stately "FOOTED SALAD BOWL" referred to by some as a "Punch Bowl". It is in the Light Green glaze. These bowls were produced with the original introduction of Fiesta in 1936 but were discontinued in 1946 (so this one is from 78 to 88 years old!). They stand 5 1/2 inches tall and are 11 1/8 inches in diameter. All of these bowls are hard to find. This bowl is in absolutely "MINT" condition. That is, it is in the same condition as the day it was crafted. As with any handmade, crafted product few Fiesta pieces are exactly the same, particularly the larger pieces. With this piece there are three crafting defects, not of which are unusual in the production of pottery, and none of which detract from the overall beauty of this piece:First, there is a tiny glaze pop inside the bowl near the rings on the bottom. (See photo 5)Second, there are three dark areas where extra glaze adhered to the clay that are up near the top rim of the bowl. I these occur when areas of the clay are drier than the surrounding areas causing extra glaze to soak into the clay prior to firing. (See photos 6, 7, and 8) Last, there is a small square glaze miss on the wet foot. This is not a chip as the glaze transitions smoothly to the miss area. The miss is unseen unless the bowl is upside down and the miss is on the inner rim of the otherwise wet foot. (See photo 10) A very superior example worthy of ANY COLLECTION. The bowl is clearly stamped "GENUINE ...fiesta....H.L.C......U.S.A..." on its bottom. I will gladly combine shipping, if practical, when multiple items of mine are purchased.
