The carving shows a man wearing blue overalls, a red shirt, and a brown hat, while standing on a brown square raised platform. The man appears to be holding a sickle in his right hand. He is holding the sickle close to his body. This miniature carving, shows lots of very well-done details. Look at the man facial features, it shows the nose, the eyes, the mouth, and his white hair parted by his ears on the side of his face. The carving also shows details of the shoes, the shirt, the hat, and the overalls. A very well-done miniature made by what appears to be a master carver, which will make a nice addition to your carved folk art figures collection. Origin: Purchased at an estate auction in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. Size: Measures ~3 1/2" high with the base measuring ~1 1/8" by ~1 1/16" and is ~3/4" high. The piece weighs about 0.3 ounces. Maker: Unknown. Marks: Marked in pencil on the bottom of the base with the letters LN.
