Description: Original mid century walnut night stand or side table designed by Mel Smilow for Smilow-Thielle in New York during the 1950's.Rectangular in shape with a single drawer to the front and a simple, clean design standing on classic mid-century tapered legs. The use of quality woods and fine craftsmanship along with innovative timeless design resulted in the production of this wonderful night stand. Having it's original warm brown finish with a beautiful patina and age appropriate minor marks, wear and dings from use.This fantastic night stand has remained with the original owners since the 1950's when they were just married and living in New York and bought a number of pieces from the Smilow-Thielle collections to furnish their first home together.
