Description: An interesting mid century hand signed lithograph from American artist William H. Stilson (1934-c.2010). A limited edition study of a steel yard and bridge crane from the early 1960s during the last decades of American industrial preeminence. It is titled "Steel Number Two" The lithograph measures 9 3/4 x 14 inches, sheet size is approx. 12 3/4 x 17 1/4 inches with a deckel edge at bottom. It is hand signed, titled and numbered in the artist's hand in pencil in the lower margin. The work is printed in black ink on wove paper and it in excellent condition.. William H. (Bill) Stilson (1934-c.2010) was an American painter and printmaker based in the Rockport, Massachusetts art colony. Biographical information is scarce and overshadowed by the news of Stilson's death by a self inflicted gunshot wound.
