Doves and birds are a highly desirable subject and carried a lot of symbolism and meaning to the Victorians. This brooch dates to the early 1900s. The original hinge and replacement c clasp are in working condition. Measures roughly 25 mm diameter at widest points. There is minimal to no tesserae loss in the mosaics that I can detect (the tiny handmade glass tile pieces) with a few recessed pieces. One of the turquoise cabochons is slightly lifted but very stable (see photos). Please zoom and inspect all photos for additional details and condition for they are all part of the description.
