Description: This is a 1962 POST CEREAL card #5 featuring the legendary Hall of Famer MICKEY MANTLE of the NEW YORK YANKEES. The vintage hand-cut card is in FR/GD condition and perfect for any fan of ‘The Mick’. After Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris's spell-binding race to break Ruth's single-season HR record in 1961, Post Cereal went all-out promoting the Yankee teammates in their 1962 set. The 1962 Post Cereal Baseball consists of 200 cards measuring 2-1/2" by 3-1/2". Post distributed the cards (six each) via the back panel of cereal boxes with the format very similar to the prior year’s entry, with all of the player's statistics and photo printed on the front. The reverse of each card remained gray cardboard with a heavier stock. The major design change was the first 100 cards covering the American League and bearing a blue-and-white color scheme, with the second group of 100 cards honoring the National League with a red-and-yellow design.
