Description: Up for your consideration is a beautiful walnut credenza/buffet designed by Michael Taylor in the early 1950's, for Baker Furniture Company. Taylor, who was just getting his storied career off the ground at the time, designed furniture for several top-notch companies during the period. Two of Taylor's most popular collections for Baker were "New World" and "Far East". This credenza is from the "Far East" Collection. The example presented here is a magnificent unrestored original in virtually "like-new" condition. It features four cabinet doors with inset pulls, behind which are a series of three drawers (left) and one adjustable shelf (right). Additionally, the top of the credenza floats above the base cabinet on 1" risers, creating a wonderful and unusual detail. The cabinet is beautifully finished on all sides and is meant to be used as a room divider or other stand-alone purpose. In all, this is an extraordinary piece of craftsmanship, a collaboration between quality-leader, Baker Furniture, and the multi-talented, Michael Taylor. For local pick-up only, but will help buyer arrange blanket wrap service.
