Description: This unusual metal duck is depicted as having dredged Lotus stems which he holds in his beak. A lotus blossom rests on his back and leaves are also present. The blossom on his back has open cut work and can be removed to reveal a hollow interior. I think this Asian inspired duck could have been created to allow incense to escape from the vessels interior. It might have been used to display live floral arrangements or conversely to be admired as an object of sculpture, for a centerpiece or on a shelf. It is 14 x 9 x 7 inches and the metal is unknown. There are no signatures.
