You can: clean it up , strip it ,revarnish and restore it or leave it as is .These original MB blocks / pulleys in original condition are increasingly difficult to source .Retains both of the brass Merriman NEPTUNE FORK logo "coins" .Hardware is a combination of SS and bronze ( no iron) . Merriman Bros with out any doubt made the best nautical gear "back in the day" right here in the USA ! SIZE: The wooden sides (shells) of the block measure at or around: 3" in height x 2 1/2" wide and total length of the whole deal is around 6 1/2" ,there is a photo provided with a yardstick included to allow you to better see for your self the actual size .
