Description: This Victorian trade card-- made by G. H. Beuk & Co. Lith. N.Y.-- advertises the Merrick Thread Company, the makers of Merrick's Spool Cotton: "Merrick's ~ American Thread for the Ladies of America." The backside of the card shows an image of Victorian ladies gathered. Interestingly, perhaps to insert s0-called "masculine-energy" into the brand image, there's a lion on a spool of thread in the background. The card measures approximately 3.0 x 5.0 in., slightly smaller than a standard postcard. After the years the trade card shows some typical wear, including a little tear down the right front edge of the postcard that extends over the shoulder of the cute girl holding the cat. PLEASE review the scans carefully and then purchase confidently. For the domestic (American) buyer, I'll send your trade card free of charge with standard first class shipping within the United States. I'm in the effort to keep our costs down. However, if you want certified mail services (includes tracking) for the added cost of $4.00, just send me a message and alert me that you want this service so that I can make arrangements for you. Please make me an offer, if you like...Thanks for considering this keepsake.
