Spine heads and tails with some chipping and general wear. Top edges trimmed, others uncut. Interiors clean, with no bookplates or notes from former owners. One of 200 large paper sets on Van Gelder paper, this being hand-numbered 46 in each volume. Contains seven volumes in fourteen parts plus the atlas volume. HR consignment. Shelved above Religion. This set includes for the first time many major primary documents which did not appear in the (at the time) definitive 1814 Biddle edition.
