Description: The book has water damage resulting in wave-like rippled pages and discoloration around page edges. Lots of small stains and fox marks inside both covers and on end pages. The corners and outer spine ends a bit pushed but not too bad. The most damage is on the inside front cover lower gutter area, where the paste-down paper is torn and separating from the spine and cloth board. The paste down is coming up opposite the gutter . Outer boards have stains and scuff marks. Fortunately there are no stuck or torn pages ( aside from the inside front cover mentioned above ) , all print is perfectly legible and portraits are good. This is where this copy becomes one-of-a-kind. The original owner sought out 29 of the people showcased in the book and had them autograph opposite their portraits. This is quite a collection and includes names that are notable to this day here in San Antonio. I believe all of the signers are also deceased, making it virtually impossible to acquire these signatures in a single collection setting. It is sad that the damage happened to the book, but I am very happy that miraculously these signatures were spared and still exist at all. Please look at the pics for close-ups of above-mentioned damaged areas and for as many of the great signatures and inscriptions I can fit in. I am not a professional book seller or grader so please examine the scans and feel free to message me with any questions or concerns you may have. The list of signatures/inscriptions is as follows; 1. Marshall T. Steves. 2. Elbert Mervin Stevens. 3. S. J. "Jack" Rieger. 4. Charles Shcreiner Nelson. 5. Pleas C. Naylor, Jr. 6. David Miller. 7. Brigadier General (USAF Ret) Robert F. McDermott. 8. Frank Manupelli . 9. Gerald Lyda. 10. Louis J. Kocurek. 11. Peter J. Hennessey. 12. Curtis C. Gunn. 13. Frank Morgan Gillespie, Jr. 14. Marvin E. Dreyer. 15. Tom E. Turner. 16. Jimmie V. Thurmond, Jr. 17. Richard L. Stewart. 18. Charles E. Cheever, Sr. 19. Charles Wooten Burmeister. 20. James E. Bauerle. 21. Dr. Robert Van Osdell West, Jr. 22. J. P. Fisher, Jr. 23. Ray Ellison, Sr. 24. O'Neil Ford. 25. John Robert Kittrell. 26. Henry Santos Westrup. 27. Tom Benson. 28. David E. Pace. 29. John Edward Newman. The book is overall "Beat But Complete" but the signed portions definitely make up for that.
