Description: This Very old Medium sized Jade Mandala Buddha measures 2" x 1.5" and is suitable for use in jewelry or home decor. Buddhas are an enlightened being. Buddha represents Buddhism and Spirituality, making it a collectible item. This Buddah is a Madala Buddha. What is a Mandala? A Mandala is a symbolic picture of the Universe, painted on a scroll, woven within material or even a etched on a wall, or drawn in the sand. Essentially it is a way to depict the center of the universe in a sacred geometric pattern used for meditation and ritual practices. You can see the rolled Mandala under his right arm, and he has a sack thrown over his left shoulder. He weighs 1.32 of an ounce. We do not exactly how old this piece is- but we can tell it is old, vintage, maybe even antique by the carvings. There seems to be some cracking (see photo's) but nothing is broken off or missing. It looks like those cracks have been there a long, long time. A hole has been pre-drilled from the top of his head down through his body, you can see the exit under his belly button, so vertical, not horizontal.
