Description: *** NOTE: As a business that handles a lot of old books, magazines, and paper, we come across items that are not "Grade A" or not appropriate for other parts of my store. As a lover of old items, I have created a section of my eBay store that features old paper items that would be great for crafting projects, disassembled for advertisements, or disassembled for artwork. I will attempt to clearly state the condition of the items, so that you can decide if it is right for your project. The most common conditions can vary from a vintage item whose binding has disintegrated or in the process of disintegration, to books with minor moisture damage at some point in history. *** McClure's Magazine was first published in 1893 by Samuel S. McClure, initially focusing on politics and literature. By 1905, the magazine had evolved and expanded its content to include a wide range of topics, including social issues, investigative journalism, and human-interest stories. Key aspects of McClure's Magazine during this time include: **Format**: The magazine was published monthly and featured both fiction and non-fiction pieces. It was known for its high-quality printing and engaging illustrations. **Contributors**: McClure's attracted many talented contributors, including well-known journalists, writers, and artists. Some notable figures associated with the magazine during this period include Stephen Crane, Jack London, Theodore Dreiser, and Frank Norris. **Impact**: McClure's played a significant role in shaping public opinion through its investigative reporting and exposés on important social issues. For instance, it exposed corruption within the U.S. Navy and helped bring attention to the plight of Native Americans. **Circulation**: By 1905, McClure's had achieved widespread readership across the United States and beyond. Its influence extended far beyond its original target audience of educated professionals and intellectuals. Publication name: McClure's Magazine Publication Date: Some dates found indicate from 1900 to 1905 Physical Size: 6.5 x 9 Approximate Number of Pages: 70 Address label or Newsstand issue? No labels Condition: Covers are missing, and the binding has disintegrated. Incomplete, but around 70 pages. Amazing number of 120-year-old advertisements. This publication is a time capsule from a previous era, with some examples in my collection going back over 250 years old. The conditions of media of this age can include fading, yellowing, cracking spines, odor, missing pages, loose or missing covers, and much more. I will try to alert you as to the condition of what I am listing. Each magazine I do a brief check of its overall condition, but I cannot promise that something such as missing pages, or clipped photos could escape my glance. Thanks for checking out this old time classic! I will be listing hundreds of vintage magazines and media in the coming weeks and months. Keep a look-out for additional listings, and thanks for supporting this cancer survivor and small business!
