Description: Maxfield Parrish - “The Man In The Moon” (aka “A Departure”) - Original Double-Matted (inner black, outer textured ecru) Period-Framed Black & White Illustration, (page 207) from the 1902 First Edition of Kenneth Grahame’s “Dream Days” illustrated by Parrish. (Copyright 1898 by John Lane) Note: The image measures 5 3/4”x 4”, outermost (period) frame dimensions are 8 3/4”x 7”. (Thought the frame worked quite well). It is backed with 2-ply acid-free cotton rag board, new dustcover, hardware and bump-ons, July, 2024 and ready to hang. Parrish’s MP signature, (not visible due to coloration) bottom right corner (photo #8). It was never issued as a period print; it's only other appearances were a black & white illustration in the January, 1898 issue of 'Brush And Pencil’ and (in color) as an illustration in the December, 1922 issue of 'Illustrated London News'. Note: The first 10 photos are taken without glass to avoid reflection/glare issues, photos 12, 13 & 14 after completion of project. Also Note: The last 3 photos, (15, 16 & 17), the book itself, and tissue lining are shown for provenance only. The book is ‘Not’ included, the tissue lining ‘Will’ be included. Quite a cute little piece for being 122 years old. Thanks for looking. I refund shipping charges over actual. USPS Ground Advantage is new and less expensive than USPS Priority. (Inv #2437-H)
