Description: Maxfield Parrish’s “The History Of Codadad And His Brothers” Original Unframed Color Illustration (facing page 276) from the 1919 Edition of Wiggin & Smith’s ‘The Arabian Nights’. The color and condition are excellent. The image is 6 1/2”x 5 1/4”. Outermost page dimensions are 9 1/4”x 7”. MP signature lower left corner (photo #6). Minor scarring/discoloration on bottom left margin (photo #5), image not affected (easily concealed by matting). Would look great matted and framed. A nice cost/size alternative to the full size print (Ref. Flacks 4th, page 51, last photo, #11). This was originally painted for and appeared as the color frontispiece for the September 1, 1906 issue of Colliers Magazine, in the feature ‘Arabian Nights II’, issued as a print the same year and finally as an illustration in the Wiggin & Smith 1909 publication (and several subsequent editions).
