Description: Maxfield Parrish’s “Pierrot’s Serenade” Original Unframed Print from the 1908 Collier’s Portfolio ‘Thirty Favorite Paintings’. 10 3/4” X 15 3/4” outer border, image size is 11 1/4”x 9 1/2”. Plate signed lower left (photo #7). Excellent color and condition; never exposed to the light of day. First time out of portfolio for these photos. It is 116 years old. Reverse side (photos 13 & 14) has the title of the next (facing) print in the portfolio. Pierrot was originally painted for, and appeared as the color cover of the August 8, 1908 issue of Collier’s Magazine, issued as a print the same year and finally used as an illustration in Palgrave’s 1911 ‘Golden Treasury….’ Book. A really great piece, or gift for the discriminant collector. Note: the last 2 photos (17 & 18), are shown for provenance only and Not included.
