It was part of a collection of 13 paintings I bought that he painted at the California Art Institute in Westlake Village in Los Angeles, where he taught and painted for many, many years. Max was born on July 28, 1925 and died on December 15, 2019 at age 94. He authored six books including “Figures and Faces”, “Faces”, and “Faces 2” and you can learn more about Max on my website www.maxturnerartist.com. This site includes his bio and a video of an interview I conducted with Max. Max always painted portraits using live models and his unique style was frequently compared to the famous Russian/American Master Nicolai Fechin.
