That movie’s prop masters collaborated with Daniel Arsham on a 1:1 resin sculpture, and we collaborated with him on a 1:64 Silkstone edition. All of them evoke the experience of the thrilling cinematic chase – though our recollections, like the car presented here, may erode over time. Working with multiple collaborators, he customized a 1986 Porsche 911 Turbo for off-road use, turning it into a rally-racer’s dream. He then created an eroded sculpture of this Porsche “Safari” to great acclaim. Using samples similar to Arsham’s work of art and customization, Hot Wheels designers crafted the Safari in 1:64 scale, recreating the crystallizations with our proprietary Silkstone material.
