Description: This is a mated set of error tokens, which were first struck off center and were not ejected properly. They were struck at least once more while they lay overlapped in the press. The last strike caused the mated set you see here. The set is pictured in the United States Error Coins groups banner. The original copper plated zinc tokens measure approximately 25mm in diameter, the struck errors are much larger. The two pieces are mounted in carboard holders. I purchased them many years ago and the set is from my personal error collection. I’m posting photos of both sides of an original sample that is not included in this sale.
