Fits motor types AM 452, 453, 470, 471, 472, 473, 475, 477, 490 AND 496. Maserati part# 313453201. This is the original starter supplied by Maserati on later Biturbo models including the V8 Shamal. It is a high torque, light weight unit made by Valeo and replaces the original Magneti Marelli unit. Much easier to remove and replace than the Marelli unit as instead of using bolts and nuts to mount it, the nose is threaded and the bolts come in from the transmission side.
