My grading scale includes Near Mint (looks like it was just bought, any flaws are extremely minor), Very Fine (almost Near Mint, right on the edge, but just misses), Fine (not Near Mint but still nearly so), (Very Good (shows evidence of handling and has notable flaws but none are disastrously awful), Good (more flawed, still a solid book for reading but that's about it), Fair (big problems) and Poor (horrible condition, trash it after reading it).
