While showing some signs of age and use, it offers excellent playability and a resonant, open tone. The guitar features a Sitka spruce top with Indian rosewood sides and back, a slightly wider nut width of 44.7mm (measured) and a soft V-shaped mahogany neck, along with an ebony fingerboard and bridge. The open-back tuners with butterbean knobs, along with the herringbone trim and zigzag back strip, reflect a 1940s-inspired design. Additionally, the use of "scalloped bracing" (common until the early 1940s) contributes to the guitar’s open and responsive sound. There are some minor dings, scratches, and pick marks, but no significant damage such as cracks or repairs, and no signs of strap pin or pickup installation (endpin jack modification). The truss rod is barely tightened, and the neck remains almost straight in perfect playing condition. The truss rod still offers ample adjustment for relief, and the saddle height remains intact. The frets show wear primarily on the lower positions on the high E string, with about 70% remaining, but there are no issues with buzzing or fret-out, and the playability is excellent.
