Description: Martin D12-28 Description Among Martin 12-strings, the 1970s D-28 model is popular for its clear grain and gorgeous sound. The D-12-28 is a model that began production in 1970, and has a dreadnought style with a 14-fret joint. This guitar reminds me of the Eagles' Hotel California. There is still footage of this being played on stage with a Dialmond pickup set up.The gorgeous yet sad sounds you hear on records still captivate your heart. This instrument is a 1979 model, and although it looks unpleasant and has some discoloration, it is in good condition and was made in the final year of the 1970s.The pickguard has been replaced and there is a slight martin crack on the outside of the pickguard, which has been glued. Since this is the area where the bracing will be applied, no additional crack prevention was applied. It has been adjusted to have a fairly low action, making it easy to play up to the high positions and producing a well-balanced sound.Top is spruce, sides and back are rosewood, ebony fingerboard, and ebony bridge. The original 6-row Grover square shield back pegs work fine. The pickguard has been replaced and Martin crack treatment has been completed. The nut and frets are original, but the neck angle has been reset, the saddle has been replaced, and the nut has been adjusted. The bridge has been slightly reduced in height, but there is no practical problem. There is plenty of room in the saddle height and the tension is secure. It has a dark discoloration for its model year, and has been carefully weather checked. Although there are some surface scratches and playing marks, it is in beautiful original condition. It is a regular grip neck with a nut width of about 47.0 mm.The neck has been adjusted and set straight. It is a fairly low set with the 6th string 1.9mm and the 1st string 1.6mm on the 12th fret.Even at this string height, I don't feel any vibration, and I think it's well-balanced and easy to play up to the high positions. The saddle height is solid and the tension is tight. I don't think the string height will be lowered any further, but there is still plenty of room.It has a gorgeous and clear 12-string sound with a bright and clear sound. It is a good-sounding instrument with a spacious sound that is rich in overtones. The bass has a tight and solid feel, but it also has a gorgeous sound, making it a pleasant sound to play.I think setting it to a comfortable string height will give it an even more powerful feel, but since it's a 12-string, this well-balanced set is the most recommended.Comes with original black case.12-string instruments from this era are rarely in stock, and I think it's hard to find instruments in good condition.Color natural wood grainManufacture year 1979Number of strings: 12 stringsTop plate material spruceSide plate material rosewoodBack plate material rosewoodBody size Dreadnought typeAccessories Hard case Shipping Shipping by EMS or FedEx,UPS (international express mail service, with Tracking and Insurance, handling cost).
