Description: Marlo Booqua Large House Cat from Cypress Knee Wood Zuni Fetish This unique, one-of-a-kind carving of a large house cat was done by Zuni Native American carver Marlo Booqua. It is carved from a cypress knee, a wood sculpture-like part of the root of the cypress tree, commonly found in the swamps of the southeastern United States. Cypress knees are popular with artists as no two are alike, and each artist sees his or her own unique vision in a cypress knee. Marlo Booqua and Fitz Kiyite and their family are the only Zuni carvers working in this medium. This wonderful carving is a large, regal house cat, sitting tall. Her tail curves up her back and over one shoulder. She wears a necklace of three inlaid dots of pink shell. Marlo has finished this carving with inlaid turquoise eyes. This is a one-of-a-kind sculpture from a great carver. A wonderful gift or a great addition to any collection! It is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.Dimensions: 1 3/4''L x 3 1/2''H x 1 3/8''W Carefully packaged and shipped the next business day after payment.
