Description: This Auction is for ONE of these very rare Mardi Gras DOUBLOONS. Vintage Mardi Gras Doubloon Krewe of REX 1968 Year "New Orleans We Love You" Theme! The pictures show three doubloons to highlight the general great condition of the doubloons and you will receive one of them. Such a Collector's Item! This doubloon is from the very hard to find "first" years of REX when they started throwing doubloons form their floats. The Krewe of REX is one of the oldest and greatest Parade Krewes of New Orleans with a long history. These doubloons are a part of my collection primarily from the 1960s into the 1980s, so I may have other Mardi Gras doubloons from other Krewes. All of these have been encased in holders since the year they were caught or given to me (my grandfather was a member of REX).
